Thank you for your good wishes for my dog bite. Other than a swelled, black and blue left leg, I basically feel fine and am back walking. Not as fast or as long, but walking. As my doctor says I have a strong immune system.
I’m convinced that supplements can help protect our immune systems—my daily routine includes astragalus root and vitamin C. I also have a tiny garden. Just harvested my first broccoli today! Also cut some turnip greens and collard leaves and fresh sage. And planted tiny arugula seeds and plan Silverbeet chard (as soon as I buy organic seeds).
“In America, there’s basically only one industry that would prosper from everyone being healthy, and that’s the organic food industry…The biggest source of revenue in America has to do with consumers getting sick from the food and staying sick from the medicine, meanwhile other developing countries try to help their citizens stay healthy, by banning known toxins and carcinogens from the food and medicine supply.”
The above quote comes from a rather far-out email I receive, which I take with a grain of salt. Likewise the site for Dr. Joseph Mercola, reminding myself that I don’t have to buy his products to use his information. There is the Weston A. Price Foundation (https://www.westonaprice.org). The local Weston Price group is a favorite of mine.
Also Barbara Kingsolver, Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life has some terrific references.
Carefully poke around on the internet; there’s plenty of good information. I take heart; things are changing:
